Dacron cruising sails are the heart of our business. While the high-tech and grand prix sails are the ones that often are featured in the glossy magazine ads, more than half the sails that are produced and sold by UK Sailmakers are Dacron cruising sails. Cruising sailors like Dacron for its durability, ease of handling and longevity. At UK Sailmakers we only use Dacron produced by leading international cloth manufactures with the resources and knowledge to produce the world’s best sailcloth. Buying from three different cloth suppliers also allows us to pick and choose, as we may prefer a different cloth from a different manufactures based on your boat and your type of sailing. This is good for you as we buy cloth based on your needs not what we or our suppliers want to sell. We make great sails and they make great cloth it might be more expensive than us making our own cloth but it makes for better sails. As the old sayings goes do one thing and do it well.

Fast sails increase your cruising range, they get you to you next anchorage faster and they keep the Iron Genoa quite that much more often. We design every one of our sails custom to your boat and your needs. And this means more than just the shape of the sail but down to the details, like: what rings are on the corners, our how your reef points are set up and what kind of luff attachment is on the sail. While most Sailmakers sails are identifiable at a distance because they have a certain way of doing things, you might have to look a little close at a UK sail because our sails are YOUR SAILS.
